Concrete Floor Polishing

Our machines are optimized for grinding and polishing concrete floors, using the appropriate diamond tooling.

The first step involves grinding the floor to remove glue or other material, leveling and reaching the desired level of aggregate. Here the customer has their first option. Some prefer a light grind so that just the "cream" from the concrete is removed, and a salt and pepper finish is exposed. Others prefer to expose more stone up to a full aggregate look, reminiscent of terrazzo.

The next step is to polish or hone the concrete to different sheens. Some prefer a matt finish achieved with a low grit polish. Medium grit is a popular choice with some sheen, but still a natural looking. For a luxury finish, as well as the best light reflection to open up a space, the highest sheen is achieved with a polish up to 3000 grit.

A further option is a sealer. We use a eco-friendly water-based sealer that is appropriate for the space, whether you need a simple seal to protect against moisture or a stain guard to pet proof the floor.
